At 3D 4D Ultrasound by 4D Special Delivery, you can “meet” your unborn baby. 3D 4D Ultrasound by 4D Special Delivery uses 2D Ultrasound, 3D 4D Ultrasound and HD Live ultrasound technology in order for you to actually see your baby in live 4D motion or HD Live while in your womb. For decades now, 2D Ultrasound has allowed us a peek into the womb to check on the viability of pregnancy and to tell us if we are expecting a boy or a girl. The 2D Ultrasound imaging allows families to view their baby in black and white technology, where 3D 4D ultrasound or HD Live technology allows parents-to-be to see their baby in color technology. A frequent question encountered by our company is if gender determination is more accurate with color 3D 4D Ultrasound or HD Live Ultrasound technology, and the answer is No. Traditional black and white (2D Ultrasound) is the most accurate way to determine gender determination, and 3D 4D Ultrasounds are more accurate for facial imaging to see the baby’s face. Many clients may be curious to see their baby’s gender in 3D 4D Ultrasound or HD Live technology, and our sonographers are trained and experienced to visualize gender determinations due to their expertise. To determine the gender, our sonographers will visualize the gender in 2D Ultrasound, and if the baby is in optimal position, our sonographers may follow up with a 3D Ultrasound for the family. Many families are curious to know the difference in seeing the gender with ultrasound imaging. Female gender in 2D is often described as 3 echogenic lines that define the labia, while a male gender resembles a “turtle” with the roundness of the scrotum and the penis noted.

2D Ultrasound Gender Determination
A view of the gender may be hidden by the position of the baby, the position of the legs and often the position of the umbilical cord. In some cases, the umbilical cord hangs right between the legs making it impossible to see the gender of the baby. Repositioning of the mother may get the baby to move in order to free up the view. Some babies also sit cross legged allowing an accurate view difficult to obtain. 3D 4D Ultrasound by 4D Special Delivery offers gender determination starting at 14 weeks. The majority of expectant families will be able to find out if it is a boy or a girl at this stage. Some may have to come back for a repeat visit if the positioning of the baby is poor or there is cord in the way. 3D 4D Ultrasound by 4D Special Delivery offers a free rescan policy in the event we are unable to determine the gender of your baby at the first visit.
